The Specials are one of my favourite bands so when I heard they were coming to Dublin I immediately ordered a ticket!
A lot of my friends were also going to the gig so I decided to organise a “Before and After” party so that we could all meet up at a venue and then go on to the gig. I had done this before when Toots and the Maytals were in concert at the Tivioli and it went down a bomb.
I have DJ’d at The Underground venue before and asked them if they would be interested in letting me use their venue. Once I had that secured I checked with a couple of my friends who DJ and two of them wanted to get involved.
All that was left was to set up a Facebook event and I designed a poster for that based on the cover of the new album “Encore” by The Specials.
